With more than 30 years of experience in the music business, BK! is widely regarded as one of the most respected mastering engineers in Korea.

His work represents a modern mastering philosophy focused on transparency, dynamics, and tonal balance. Acting as a bridge between technology and music, BK!’s masters deliver clarity, control, and impact—while always preserving the artist’s original musical vision.

After graduating from high school, BK! moved to Tokyo to study jazz at the Shobi College of Music Conservatoire.

In 1994, he released his debut acid jazz album Guardian Angel. Two years later, he won a nationwide music competition on J-WAVE FM, initiated by Ryuichi Sakamoto, with his winning track later released on Sakamoto’s label in Japan.

During the 2000s, BK! was active as an electronic artist under the name Astro Bits. Since 2010, he has been working exclusively as a mastering engineer.

BK!’s mastering approach preserves dynamics, balance, and sonic precision, giving every instrument the space it needs in the mix. The result is excellent translation across all playback systems—from club PAs and broadcast environments to streaming platforms and physical releases.

Working across genres, BK! has collaborated with artists, producers, and labels worldwide, shaping the sound of more than 5,000 releases. Electronic music, hip-hop, and modern pop productions in particular benefit from his analytical ear and refined sense of detail.

In his studio, BK! relies on KLOTZ cables to ensure reliable, loss-free signal paths as the foundation of high-quality mastering.

KLOTZ AIS proudly welcomes BK! to the #KLOTZfamily.
